“HURRY UP HARRY”
DEBBIE HARRY is coming to the UK for a series of live shows – at the smallest venue she could find. She plays the London Borderline on October 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8. Tickets are £6 in advance and £7 at the door, and all shows begin at 10pm except for Sunday, October 8 (9pm).
A spokesman said of the choice of venue: “I think perhaps she wanted it to be really exciting, everybody just squashed in there. And she hasn’t played for a long time. If it all goes well, there’s no reason why she shouldn’t come nack and play the bigger venues.” The band comprises of her long-time co-writer and performing partner Chris Stein as well as Carla Olla (rhythm guitar), Susie Davis (keyboards/backing vocals), Leigh Foxx (bass) and Jimmy Clarke (drums). Susie Davis has previously worked with Prince, Billy Idol and Mick Jagger.
Debbie Harry releases her new album, “Def, Dumb And Blonde”, on Chrysalis on October 16. It includes the new single, “I Want That Man”, which is released this week. The rest of the tracks are: “Lovelight”, “Kiss It Better”, “Maybe For Sure”, “Calmarie”, “Get Your Way”, “Sweet And Low”, “He Is So”, “Brite Side”, “Bug Eye” and “End Of The Run”.
