The House has launched the Gucci Blondie bag, and the campaign features rock icon Debbie Harry.
Also starring Kelsey Lu, the campaign is named ‘We Will Always Have London’, and is an ode to the city’s timeless allure.
Shot by award-winning photographer and filmmaker Nan Goldin, the campaign presents the Gucci Blondie bag and the wider Cruise 2025 collection.
Available in Tuscan leather, suede or GG Monogram canvas, the Gucci Blondie can be worn on the shoulder or by the top handle.
Front and centre is an emblematic logo, which first appeared in the early 1970s, and is a rounded iteration of the archival Interlocking G, with the two Gs inverted and positioned face-to-face, overlapping to form a circle.
Known as the Gucci Blondie, the emblem quickly became a signature of the House, reflecting the bold, liberated spirit of the decade.
The first bags featuring the Gucci Blondie were crafted in suede, a material which was common for the House to use at the time, embodying the laid-back yet sophisticated fashion of the era.
The distinctive design bridged eras with its return at the Cruise 2025 show in London, where it’s styled to be slung effortlessly over the shoulder.
Two versions of the signature logo are presented, one covered in leather and the other enamelled following a technique the House used on jewellery in the 1970s.
The Gucci Blondie handbag is now available to purchase in Australia and New Zealand.
Sabato De Sarno’s latest campaign to present the Gucci Blondie embodies the creative spirit of the House’s ongoing love affair with London.
More than a century ago, it was there that a young Guccio Gucci first encountered the elegance and sophistication of the international elite while working as a liftboy at The Savoy Hotel.
This experience sparked his ambition and led to the founding of his eponymous leather goods house in 1921, forging an enduring bond with London.
