Clare Grogan

BLONDIE
Parallel Lines CHRYSALIS, 1978

It’s an obvious one, but I couldn’t leave it out. This was probably one of my first purchases as an album, going to Woolworths with my own money. And it seems every bit as good today as it did then. There’s nothing like Parallel Lines to get you ready for a big night out. Track after track… it’s like a Greatest Hits album. The genius of that album is why Altered Images really wanted to work with Mike Chapman; one of my claims to fame is that when we recorded Bite out in Los Angeles with Mike Chapman, I got to use the same microphone as Debbie Harry, She’s always been one of my biggest influences.
