Her band Blondie helped define the look and sound of punk rock and new wave music in the 1970s and ’80s.
And Debbie Harry proved she still had her rock star edge as she posed in a fur style coat and funky teal shades in a new Coach Campaign on Wednesday.
The 76-year-old music icon stood out even in a camouflage print tracksuit as she oozed punk rock glamour in the series of striking images.
Debbie looked every inch the punk rocker as she stood in a power stance with her legs apart and peered at the camera over her square-framed shades.
She wore her signature peroxide locks in a short cropped style with a dramatic side fringe and added lots of volume at the roots with some backcombing.
The Heart Of Glass hitmaker draped the fur look jacket over one shoulder as she posed up a storm in the fashion forward tracksuit.
Debbie completed the look with a pair of nude kitten heels and sported a full face of makeup with a dramatic contour and peach toned lipstick.
In her music career, Debbie served as the frontwoman and the co-lead songwriter for many of Blondie’s best-known songs.
Although the band pre-dated the official birth of punk, it became associated with the genre before the members tried their hand and more audience friendly New Wave and even early hip hop experiments.
In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, the singer admitted she had wanted even juicier acting parts throughout her career, though she doesn’t have much hope of that happening now.
She admitted craving ‘a real serious role in film or in TV, but that’s sort of wishful thinking.’
