Vocal Coach Reacts To Blondie – Call Me – Live – Ken Tamplin

The American rock band Blondie was founded by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. The duo were pioneers in the early American new wave and punk scenes of the mid-late 1970s and Harry was one of a select few of female vocalists at that time.

Stein and Harry left another band they were in to start ‘Angel and the Snake’, and then later changed their name to Blondie after Harry’s nickname.

The bands first two albums contained strong elements of new wave and punk. Initially the band was successful in the United Kingdom and Australia, but was seen as an underground band in the United States.

That all changed with the release of Parallel Lines in 1978 as the band achieved several hit singles over the next 3 years. The band was distinguished by their eclectic mix of musical styles incorporating elements of disco, pop, reggae, and early rap music.

The group has toured and performed throughout the world and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Blondie has sold 40 million records worldwide.

I’ll be reacting to their classic “Call Me”. Check out their performance and let me know your feedback!
