Blondie has a date with Mass MoCA

NORTH ADAMS — Blondie is coming to Mass MoCA this summer.
Debbie Harry and the band are scheduled to perform in Mass MoCA’s field, 7 p.m. Aug. 3. Northampton’s And The Kids open the evening.
Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday for the general public.
The band’s major hits — “Call Me,” “One Way or Another,” “The Tide is High,” “Heart of Glass” and “Rapture” — are considered by many to be enduring rock classics..
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
The New Wave band — Deborah Harry, Clem Burke, Jimmy Destri, Nigel Harrison, Frank Infante, Chris Stein and Gary Valentine —broke through with its 1979 No. 1 Top 40 hit, “Heart of Glass.” During the late Seventies and early Eighties, Blondie had eight Top 40 hits, including three, in addition to “Heart of Glass,” that topped the charts — “Call Me,” “The Tide is High” and “Rapture.”
The band broke up in 1982. Harry, Burke, and Stein reunited in 1997. Joining them on tour and in the studio are Leigh Foxx (bass) and Tommy Kessler (guitar) as well as keyboardist-songwriter Matt Katz-Bohen
The band’s 10th studio album, “Ghosts of Download,” was released in 2014 and their 11th studio album, “Pollinator,” was released in May 2017.
