Forty years since their first UK gig, Blondie were back on stage to prove they’ve still got it.
Hackney’s Round Chapel was the venue four decades on from their debut British performance at the Bournemouth Village Bowl, for a show put on by Amazon Tickets as part of their Prime Live Events series.
It’s unlikely there were many – if any – in the 750-strong crowd who were at that historic south coast gig in 1977. But you never know; once a Blondie fan, always a Blondie fan, eh?
The songs still sound good, too.
From classics like Rapture, Call Me and Atomic to their latest material from album Pollinator, this was pretty good for a school night at the tail-end of the summer.
Amazon Prime Live Events sees major artists performing live in intimate venues exclusively for members. Artists including Alison Moyet, Texas and Katie Melua performed earlier this year with the Blondie gig marking the fourth event in the series.
