She was once one of the most desirable women on the planet.
But Blondie star Debbie Harry was virtually unrecognisable as she stepped out in Manchester today.
With grey hair and wearing an outfit that did little to flatter her figure, Harry looked good for her 64 years, but a far cry from the pop star siren she once was.
The only sign of her former love of edgy fashion was the white T-shirt she wore which had a barbed wire pattern printed on the front, and a pair of celebrity-favourite sunglasses.
Harry, who is in Manchester ahead of her gig tonight with Blondie at the Manchester Apollo, had previously had her hair dyed blonde to make her appear younger, but it appears the singer is now favouring the natural look.
Harry has never made a secret of the fact that she has gone under the surgeon’s knife to give her career longevity, and says she had cosmetic surgery for ‘business reasons’.
She said: ‘Yeah, I had a facelift years ago. Why not? It gives you all the things you need to be part of the action. I don’t feel like hiding myself away.
‘I did it for business reasons. You photograph better, and looks are a key part of being an entertainer, so I felt it was something I had to do.
‘All sorts of horrific things happen in life – why make it worse by worrying about getting older? Do some charity work, or learn a new skill instead.’
