Pop’s most photographed female is indisputably the delectable Debbie Harry. The beautiful Blondie whose face has helped to launch a lotta hits for the top pop group around at present.
With ‘Sunday Girl’ sitting pretty as Debbie right at the top of the charts we thought we’d mark the occasion with some super shots of the lovely lady.
Incidentally, latest news on the band (hot from New York) is that Ms Harry and Co are still holed up in the studios putting the finishing touches to their new album – tentatively titled ‘Eat The Beat’. The band describe the platter as being a mixture of disco and rock, and our spy on the spot has warned us of the great sounds to come. And he’s not the only one… singer Tanya Tucker has also been a regular mightily impressed visitor to the studio.
However, it hasn’t been all work and no play for the popsters. The band have made several outings to another Studio (54 this time) these past few weeks, to let off a bit of steam.
And Debbie and Chris Stein have been using every spare moment working on their new flat which they’re in the process of decorating.
“We’ve been checking out curtains and carpets and all things domestic,” Debbie told us. “It’s the first time we’ve been in New York long enough to get round to it.”
When the album’s finally finished there’ll be a series of US shows and then of course somewhere around the October mark, the band will be back in the UK for some long awaited British dates.
“We can’t wait to play Britain again,” said Debbie. “We owe a lot to our English fans – they gave us the big break we needed. And we’ll never forget it.”
We don’t think there’s any danger of forgetting Debbie but here’s some pics by popular Deb demand.
